Watch Out: Copier Leasing Contracts Under Fire for Unfair Terms

The ACCC found that Fujifilm’s contracts locked businesses into long-term agreements with terms that were heavily skewed in favor of the provider. These contracts made it difficult for businesses to terminate agreements, imposed unfair penalties, and provided little flexibility for customers.
In addition, Fujifilm has been known to put customers on copy plans, where businesses are locked into paying for a set number of prints—even if they don’t use them. This practice forces companies to pay for prints they don’t actually make, driving up costs unfairly.
